Terry Chester

Meet Pastor Terry, who, alongside his wife Stephanie and their three children  – Annelise, Nathan, and Caitlin – brought their wealth of experience to Girrawheen Baptist Church in March 2017. After pastoring in New Zealand, Terry served as an administrator at Perth Bible College before coming to GBC, and has over 30 years experience in Pastoral ministry.

As Girrawheen Baptist Church’s full-time Senior Pastor, Terry passionately oversees our various church ministries and activities.

With a rich background and unwavering dedication, Pastor Terry is committed to nurturing a vibrant community within the church and its ministries.

Rex Gabrielson

Meet Pastor Rex Gabrielson, a passionate and dedicated leader at Girrawheen Baptist Church for over 40 years. Appointed as Worker Pastor in 1972, Pastor Rex, with his wife Faye, played a crucial role in the Yokine Outreach Work.

The Girrawheen Fellowship, established in 1973, evolved into Girrawheen Baptist Church in 1974. Pastor Rex accepted a three-year full-time pastor role in 1977, marking the beginning of a lasting commitment. Under his leadership, the church thrived, achieving stability and growth. The inauguration of a new church building in 1977 symbolized their progress, a testament to Pastor Rex’s enduring dedication and effective leadership.

Issac Birir

Pastor Isaac serves the Church as an Associate Pastor. He and his wife Joycline arrived in Australia in late 2016 and they have three children, Ambassador, Melanie, and Vincent.

Isaac’s dedication to the Church and love for others reflects a deep commitment to God’s kingdom, helping to strengthen and grow our Church community into the image of Christ.
